Dr. Ramakrishnan is dedicated to making a difference by introducing innovative solutions in healthcare and has achieved several notable milestones. He played a key role in establishing Chennai Critical Care Consultants, a pioneering private practice group of critical care specialists. This group not only offers state-of-the-art clinical care for critically ill patients but also provides specialized remote monitoring Tele ICU services. Remarkably, the TeleICU monitoring center in Chennai, established in 2010, was the first of its kind outside the United States.

 

Additionally, Dr. Ramakrishnan successfully launched TACT Academy for Clinical Training, which is India’s first simulation-based healthcare training center. This academy has earned awards for its innovative approach to healthcare education and has been recognized in the Limca Book of Records. Through the SAGA Charitable Trust, he has also contributed to developing “social doctors” by training non-medical individuals in life-saving skills. Furthermore, he was the first board-certified sleep medicine specialist in India and founded the Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences, which is India’s first freestanding sleep center.Dr. N. Ramakrishnan is a healthcare entrepreneur, certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Management from the University of Southern California. Currently, he serves as the Director of Critical Care Services at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai and is a Senior Consultant specializing in Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
