Acute Kidney Injury

General Nephrology and CKD experience
Dr Girish has gained experience in management of acute and chronic problems related to General Nephrology & CKD. This is through regular ward rounds, clinics and oncall experience. He has done low clearance and conservative management clinics.
 
Haemodialysis & Vascular access
He has had the opportunity to work in various HD units, including a number of satellite units. He has conducted regular visits to satellite units and outreach clinics, where he has consistently coordinated and led meetings related to haemodialysis access planning, adequacy, anaemia, and bone profile. He has taken on the responsibility of prescribing dialysis and managing common dialysis-related complications. He has devoted substantial time to the dialysis unit to gain a deep understanding of the HD/HDF process. In addition, he has effectively managed access-related complications and is a regular participant in Vascular Access MDT meetings, where he presents cases on a frequent basis.

Peritoneal dialysis
He independently performs medical insertions of peritoneal dialysis catheters and exhibits confidence in managing a broad spectrum of PD-related complications, including dialysis prescription and changes. He is proficient in the use of APD machines and routinely conducts peritoneal dialysis adequacy, anaemia, and MBD clinics. He has further conducted home visits to gain insight into dialysis setup and management in a home environment.

Transplantation
He takes the responsibility of managing acute post-transplant cases and displays confidence in managing both immediate and late complications that may arise post-transplant. He possesses significant experience in post-kidney-pancreas transplant management and at prescribing immunosuppressants. He conducts weekly live donor and pre-transplant assessment clinics. He attends weekly transplant MDT and amp biopsy meetings, and is highly engaged in high-risk transplant MDT. He has also gained some experience in managing ABO incompatible transplants and paired exchange transplants.
